There are many different levels of ability to pay high school tuition. Many families have difficulty affording the cost and depend on scholarship funds to help with their childrens' education. We raise the scholarship funds by means of contributions, the annual golf tournament (coming Spring, 2004), advertising/sponsorships, and other events. We hope these funds will help numerous children obtain their high school education via our "partnership" with Holy Redeemer, a community Dave was involved with for much of his life.
Scholarship Awards
Holy Redeemer School awards three scholarships each year in memory of Dave Daly. Awards are presented each year in the late Spring, near (or at) the end of the school year.
Sportsmanship Award ($500)
The Sportsmanship Award goes to the athlete (girl or boy) who best exemplifies the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship, qualities that Dave exhibited so well on and off the basketball court. This athlete may not be the star of the team who makes the most baskets or hits the most home runs, but the person who cheers the team from the bench, who shows up early for all practices, and who never gives up. Candidates for this award will be nominated by their peers.
Academic Award ($1,000 per award)
Two Academic Awards go to the students (one boy and one girl) with the best combined grade point average in Math and Science.
